Job Description
ib vogt GmbH is seeking a Wind Civil Engineer to oversee civil engineering aspects of wind power projects, including design review, site preparation, and construction of foundations and infrastructure. The role requires technical expertise and field management skills to ensure safety, quality, and compliance. The position is based in Poland and involves supervising contractors and conducting inspections to maintain project standards.

Job Description
The Wind Civil Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all civil engineering aspects of wind power projects, from detailed design review and site preparation to the construction of wind turbine foundations, heavy haul roads, substations, and other Balance of Plant (BOP) civil works. This role demands a technically proficient and field‑oriented professional capable of managing complex civil construction activities under challenging site conditions while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities 1. Design Review & Technical Analysis
• Review and analyze civil designs, drawings, and specifications for wind projects.
• Evaluate and optimize wind turbine foundation designs (gravity, piled, rock‑anchor types) in coordination with geotechnical and turbine supplier requirements.
• Review and plan heavy haul and access roads suitable for turbine component transportation.
• Assess constructability, identify potential design conflicts, and propose effective solutions.
2. Site Preparation & Earthworks
• Oversee site surveys, topographical mapping, and geotechnical investigations.
• Supervise large‑scale earthworks—cut & fill, excavation, back filling, and compaction—ensuring adherence to design and quality standards.
3. Foundation & Infrastructure Construction
• Supervise the construction of wind turbine foundations, substations, and other civil structures.
• Ensure proper rebar placement, concrete quality control, curing, and compliance with design specifications.
• Oversee construction and maintenance of internal access roads, drainage systems, culverts, and stormwater structures.
4. Quality Assurance & Compliance
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures for civil works in accordance with project specifications and IS Codes.
• Conduct inspections, material testing (soil, concrete, aggregates), and maintain detailed quality records.
• Prepare inspection and non‑conformance reports and drive corrective actions.
5. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
• Enforce EHS policies and statutory safety regulations at all project sites.
• Conduct safety briefings, identify potential hazards, and ensure corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with environmental standards and local regulations during civil activities.
6. Contractor & Stakeholder Management
• Coordinate and supervise civil contractors and specialized vendors.
• Review contractor method statements, work plans, and progress reports.
• Evaluate civil work progress and support project scheduling and cost control.
7. Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain daily site reports, material consumption records, and work progress documentation.
• Prepare weekly/monthly progress updates and present to project management.
Support audits, inspections, and design modifications with accurate data and reports.
Qualifications Education
• B.E. /
B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
Experience
• 2–5 years of experience in civil construction and project execution.
• Direct experience in wind power projects, renewable energy infrastructure, or heavy industrial civil works is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
• Strong knowledge of civil and structural design principles, construction methods, and QA/QC procedures.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with other civil/structural software (e.g., STAAD Pro, Civil 3D) is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of IS Codes relevant to concrete, soil, and structural design.
