About the position

American Conservation Experience (ACE) is seeking enthusiastic young adults to join our crew program for a term from August 2, 2024, to December 22, 2024. This opportunity is available in multiple locations across California, including state parks along the coast, the High Sierras, and the high desert and forests of the Mountain West and Southwest. Crew bases are strategically located in Flagstaff, Arizona; Ridgecrest, Sacramento, and Coachella Valley, California; Hurricane, Utah; and Asheville, North Carolina. As a crew member, you will work closely with land management professionals and ACE staff, gaining hands-on experience in various conservation activities. The role involves a diverse range of tasks, including building new trails, removing invasive plants, planting native species, thinning trees, engaging in historic preservation, and fencing for wildlife and range management on public lands. This position not only offers the chance to contribute to meaningful conservation efforts but also provides an opportunity to learn new skills in a supportive team environment. Members of the crew will receive hourly pay of $8.00, along with housing and meals during their term. Responsibilities
