Job Description

Staff Tech is hiring an Entry Level Data Technician for a full-time, temporary position in Sacramento, CA. Responsibilities include data entry, analysis, and management, as well as using AutoCAD and GIS applications. Candidates should have good communication skills and the ability to adapt to new technologies. No degree is required, but knowledge of relevant software and experience with ArcMap and AutoCAD are preferred.

Job Description :

Data Management Technician

General requirements:
• Communicate clearly and concisely with others, orally and in writing.
• Simultaneously handle several tasks and continue to reestablish priorities.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective team relationships with all internal and external customers.
• Able to operate a computer for up to 8 hours a day.
• Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn the functionality of new equipment and systems.
• May be required to pass a security/background check

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Apply principles of engineering, drafting, designing, and mathematics techniques.
• Enter, transfer, extract, and analyze data and verify the accuracy of data.
• Retrieve data from multiple databases to determine or correct problem sources or for report generation.
• Review and analyze sewer facilities surveyed information.
• Create and update assets in AutoCAD 3D Mapping Enterprise.
• Research pertinent information for data entry purposes.
• Maintain document management standards, custom attributes, and document classes.
• Provide assistance to users and customers regarding the data and processes used in the various electronic formats.

Ability to:
• Capture, maintain, and update data.
• Operate specialized data management applications.
• Read, understand, and interpret engineering plans, schematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) documents, and related documents.

Required Qualifications :

Desired knowledge and/or experience:
• Knowledge of attributes and functionality of one or more tracking and reporting database applications, computerized control systems applications, computer-aided drafting applications, and/or system modeling software applications
• Knowledge of procedures, methods, and equipment, including computers and applicable software applications (Word, Excel, and databases)
• Experience using ArcMap to edit spatial data
• Experience drafting in current versions of AutoCAD
