Job Description
Waste Management is hiring a 421A Heavy Equipment Technician in Brampton, ON, offering a $7,500 sign-on bonus and a pay rate of $43.40 per hour. Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance and repairs on various heavy equipment. Candidates must have relevant experience and certification. The position offers extensive training, safety rewards, and a supportive work environment. This is not a remote position, as it involves hands-on maintenance work.

Shift: Mon-Fri 11am - 730pm

I. Job Summary
Performs complex preventative maintenance tasks, and troubleshoots and repairs a wide variety of equipment (Trucks and Yellow Iron).
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
• Repairs as needed equipment (including, but not limited to, bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, front end loaders, yard trucks, farm tractors, forklifts, and company cars).
• Diagnoses and repairs differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, air conditioning systems, and electrical systems.
• Performs tasks per preventative maintenance checklist.
• Completes records such as work orders, card files, P.M. checklists, and oil samples.
• Services and maintains other equipment such as light plants, water pump, welders, and other equipment.
• Reference site-specific procedures and more detailed site-specific job descriptions.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

• No supervisory responsibilities required.
IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience
• Education: Not required.
Experience: 2 years of relevant work experience.
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
• Must be 421A or 310T certified with Heavy Equipment Experience
• Valid drivers license and must have an acceptable driving record.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Required to use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.
Required to exert physical effort in handling objects more than _ pounds frequently.
