Additive Manufacturing Technician – Metal 3D Printing (EV Industry)

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

This role focuses on the operation, maintenance, and optimisation of metal 3D printing equipment used in the production of precision components. The position sits at the intersection of design, process engineering, and materials.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, R&D, and quality teams to ensure reliable operation of additive manufacturing systems, while also contributing to process improvements, sustainability measures, and product development.
Responsibilities:
• Operate and maintain metal additive manufacturing equipment, including setup, powder handling, build monitoring, and routine maintenance.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop and optimise build parameters, support strategies, and post-processing methods.
• Implement and improve maintenance procedures to reduce downtime and ensure consistent part quality.
• Monitor and manage stock of consumables, powders, and spare parts in coordination with supply chain.
• Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving process efficiency, product quality, and environmental performance.
Requirements:
• Technical qualification or relevant hands-on experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
• Practical knowledge of metal 3D printing technologies, preferably including titanium or similar materials.
• Experience operating and maintaining industrial SLM equipment and related post-processing tools.
• Ability to identify and resolve process issues and build failures through data analysis and problem-solving.
• Comfortable working across departments in a fast-moving production and development setting.
Desirable:
• Background in sectors such as automotive, motorsport, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools such as 5S or preventative maintenance planning.
• Knowledge of design for additive manufacturing (DfAM) and sustainability considerations in production.

This position offers the chance to be involved in the development and production of advanced components for EV platforms using cutting-edge manufacturing methods.
