About the position

The Quality Assurance Technician Lead position is a full-time role located at 1551 Boudreau Road, Manteno, IL. This position is crucial for ensuring that food safety and quality standards are met within the organization. The Quality Assurance Lead will be responsible for performing and monitoring food safety and quality procedures while providing leadership and training to both hourly and temporary Quality Assurance personnel. The role requires the establishment and evolution of formal QA processes, ensuring that the team adheres to industry-accepted best practices. The lead will oversee all aspects of quality assurance, which includes establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure that quality goals are consistently met. In addition to these responsibilities, the lead will also be tasked with instructing and mentoring team members to foster a culture of quality and compliance within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have 1-2 years of experience as a Quality Control Technician. Strong leadership skills are essential, as the role involves collaboration with management and the ability to perform mathematical calculations. Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary to ensure compliance with quality standards and to effectively resolve issues. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards, and company food safety programs with Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) systems is a plus. Bilingual candidates, particularly those fluent in both English and Spanish, are preferred, as this will enhance communication within the team and with diverse stakeholders.
