Piper Sandler is hiring an IB Analyst for their Consumer team in London. The role involves supporting transaction execution, due diligence, client materials preparation, and financial modeling. The Piper Sandler consumer investment banking team is one of the largest groups dedicated to the consumer sector across North America and Europe, with over 60 investment banking professionals. The team is a leading M&A advisor within the sector, having completed more than 170+ consumer M&A transactions since 2016 and >$5.0bn of transaction value in the past two years.

Our analysts work closely with senior bankers to make a real impact on our clients’ business through involvement in all facets of investment banking activities including mergers and acquisitions, private placements, and strategic advisory work.

Day-to-day Responsibilities Of a Junior Banker
• Transaction execution:
• Support due diligence
• Significantly contribute to the preparation of client materials
• Support negotiation of legal documents
• Liaise with relevant counterparts at the client / other advisers (accounting, legal, etc.)
• Build and maintain financial models, complete valuation, and analytical exercises
• Gather and synthesise quantitative and qualitative data
• Create and maintain industry-specific business development materials
• Conduct industry and company-specific research
• Interact with senior stakeholders and clients

Basic Qualifications
• Educated to degree level or equivalent (2:1 or above)
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong analytical and commercial orientation

Requirements
• Prior work experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or related role (including internships)
• Strong technical and quantitative abilities, including accounting, finance, valuation, and business writing skills
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to build strong relationships and rapport
• Motivated, team player with a desire to work in a fast paced, challenging environment
• Ability to manage a variety of transactions and projects simultaneously
• Positive work ethic and a high level of enthusiasm, initiative, and leadership potential
• A long- term interest in investment banking
