Job Description

Berea College is seeking a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Geological/Environmental Science for the 2025-2026 academic year. The role involves teaching three courses per semester, including Introduction to Geology and electives related to Geology and Environmental Science. Candidates should have a Ph.D. or be ABD in a relevant field and possess teaching experience. Applications will be reviewed starting in early March until the position is filled.

Description:

Berea College welcomes applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in the Geology Program (housed within the Chemistry Department) during the 2025-2026 academic year. The teaching load is three courses per semester and will include Introduction to Geology, elective courses applicable to a Geology minor and/or Environmental Science major, and other courses dependent on the candidate’s area of specialization. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Geology, Earth Science, Environmental Science, or another closely related field (ABD considered), previous experience teaching undergraduates, and a clear commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education.
