beBee Careers is seeking a Compliance and Sustainability Expert in Providence, RI. Environmental Health and Safety Leadership Opportunity
• The successful candidate will oversee organizational compliance with local, state, and federal environmental health and safety regulations.
• This includes ensuring the College is in compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to the environment, occupational safety and health, and public health.
• The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will also ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the RI Department of Environmental Management (DEM), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the RI Department of Health (RIDOH), and the Narragansett Bay Commission (NBC).
• Develop, implement and maintain records on OSHA training for all applicable College departments and employees.
• Maintain wastewater discharge permits for the existing campus and develop and implement storm water management practices and permits for new construction under Capital Projects.
• Supervise staff in indoor air quality assessments, lead paint abatement plans, mold mitigation and remediation programs, and asbestos abatement projects.
Education and Experience Required:
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science or other associated field from an accredited institution required.
• Ten years of experience in environmental health and safety or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
