CMS Communications and Management for Sustainability is seeking a Principal Fisheries Consultant in London. This full-time role involves managing marine and freshwater fisheries projects with a hybrid working arrangement (remote and in-office). Candidates should have at least 8 years of relevant experience, a postgraduate degree in a related field, and strong project management skills. MRAGLimited is a leading environmental consultancy dedicated to thesustainable management of natural resources. We specialise inaquatic resources, in particular fisheries and aquaculture. Aboutthis job: We are currently seeking a Principal Fisheries Consultantto work on marine and freshwater fisheries and aquacultureprojects. This is a full-time position based in central London,with a hybrid working arrangement (remote and in-office), andopportunities for overseas travel. Applicants shoulddemonstrate a strong interest in the sustainable use and managementof fisheries, aquaculture and associated ecosystems in an arearelevant to MRAG’s work (see MRAG website). The ideal candidatewill be highly qualified and motivated, with a minimum of 8 years’relevant experience. Your primary role will be to implementprojects within MRAG’s portfolio, but you will also need toparticipate and manage the full project cycle, from tendering toimplementation. Experience managing a diverse project portfolio andan established network of contacts is essential. Proficiency inadditional languages is an advantage. Required experience andskills: - Post-graduate degree in marine biology, fisheries scienceor another relevant subject. - Minimum of 8 years’ professionalexperience in fisheries and aquaculture sector. - Experiencemanaging the full project cycle, including contractual andbudgeting aspects. - Proven experience in new business developmentand a network of relevant contacts. - Experience leading andmanaging project teams. - Excellent written, presentation andquantitative analytic skills, with a track record of producing highquality outputs. - Broad geographical experience in projectsrelated to fisheries and aquaculture. - Strong communicationskills, both within teams and with clients and project partners.Additional languages are desirable but not essential. - Ability tomultitask across several projects, often to tight deadlines. -Knowledge of fisheries and climate change, ecosystem approach tofisheries management, the blue economy or marine spatial planningwould be desirable, but not essential.
