Job Description

The QA Technician at Urban Farmer in Manteno, IL, is responsible for quality control testing of food products, ensuring compliance with quality standards. About the position

The QA Technician role at Urban Farmer LLC involves performing quality control testing on food products and ingredients to ensure compliance with quality standards. The position requires strong leadership skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The technician will be responsible for routine quality checks, inspections, and maintaining equipment, while also ensuring food safety and quality throughout the production process.

Responsibilities
• Conducts routine Quality checks and logs results.
,
• Inspects packaging, labels, date codes, shelf life, and performs tests on incoming ingredients.
,
• Conducts daily instruments up-keep and standardization/calibration of equipment.
,
• Conducts daily GMP inspections.
,
• 90% Quality floor testing and 10% paperwork.
,
• Ensure that all products are quality ready for all customers.
,
• Continuously monitor all food products for food safety and quality defects.
,
• Report Food Safety and Quality concerns immediately to supervisors and Quality representatives on shift.

• Other responsibilities as assigned by Management.

Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
,
• 1-2 years of experience as a QC Technician.
,
• Strong leadership skills and ability to work well in a team setting.
,
• Basic math calculation skills with a calculator.
,
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
,
• Basic computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
,
• Completed training in GMP's, SQF, and company food safety programs with GFSI systems.

Nice-to-haves
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
