Job Description
CBRE is seeking a Manager/Sr. Manager for ESG & Sustainability in Gurugram, India. The role involves improving clients' sustainability performance through waste management, energy use analysis, and compliance with environmental laws. Responsibilities include managing projects, obtaining green certifications, and developing client relationships. Candidates should have a relevant degree, mandatory LEED and WELL certifications, and 8-15 years of experience in sustainability within the built environment.
Gurgaon - Haryana - India
Responsibilities
As a sustainability manager for the Region, you'll work closely with clients to help them measure and then improve their sustainability performance. This could involve looking at:
• Materials used and the waste produced, including pollutants and noise
• Management of energy, water, air and land
• How a building performs in terms of energy use - how much energy is used for power and temperature regulation, and how this energy can be recycled
• Impact on local communities and eco-systems
• Suppliers and procurement
• Sustainable construction strategies
• Compliance with environmental legislation.
Although tasks vary depending on client and asset class within Real estate and Infrastructure, you'll typically need to:
• Undertake various Green Building and Health & wellness certifications such as LEED, IGBC, WELL, Edge, etc. from feasibilities, design interventions, documentations to complete hand holding the clients until the certificate is obtained.
• Collect and analyse data, and produce reports to demonstrate your findings
• Present your findings to clients
• Provide advice around how clients can meet regulations laid out in environmental law
• Recommend technologies and explain the most cost-effective and beneficial routes to sustainability. This could involve switching to alternative energy sources to lower energy costs, smarter water usage, reducing waste and lowering carbon emissions
• Keep up to date with current research and legislation via specialist publications, following relevant social media groups or by attending conferences
• Manage projects which involve identifying potential clients, preparing bid documents and managing resources and budgets to deadline.
• Be responsible for regional P&L , ARs, invoicing and business targets. Create go to market strategies and undertake client solutioning and business development for the assigned region.
• Conduct regular site visits and audits to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including consultants, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering / Mechanical / HVAC / Electrical (B. Tech / B. E) or Architecture (B.Arch.).
• Either LEED AP or IGBC AP certification is mandatory.
• WELL AP certification is mandatory.
• 8-15 years of experience in sustainability within the built environment. Of which minimum 3 years in a sustainability consultancy.
• Proven track record of successfully implementing sustainability initiatives in both Interiors and Buildings. Experience of having worked on both existing and New buildings.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant sustainability software.
• Experience of delivering ESG reports in various National and International frameworks will be a plus.
