Position Purpose:
Logistics Associate personnel are essential links in the food supply chain, guaranteeing that items are delivered punctually and in pristine condition. Moreover, these drivers represent our brand, playing a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining positive connections with our clientele
The Logistics Associate is accountable for the transportation of food and food-related merchandise, utilizing different types of trucks for delivery purposes. They are responsible for delivering goods safely and promptly to customers, following DOT regulations and ensuring compliance with transportation laws. The driver's primary duty is to transport food items securely and promptly, adhering to all guidelines set forth by the Department of Transportation.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Maintains professional communication and interaction with customers, vendors, and peers, ensuring timely and accurate responses to queries.
• Engages as a team player within the department and the organization, executing all assigned duties effectively to support the overall goals of the company.
• Carries out obligatory safety checks, including pre and post-trip evaluations, by inspecting the tractor, truck, and trailer following Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. Furthermore, verifies the tractor, truck, and trailer for compliance with company safety guidelines and addresses any issues appropriately.
• Report any safety hazards or needed repairs without delay.
• Maintains compliance with DOT regulations and company-established safe driving guidelines.
• Speedily alerts about safety hazards and checks the trailer for appropriately loaded and firmly secured cargo.
• Conducts a comprehensive count check of items and cross-references customer invoices for loaded merchandise.
• Ensures all essential paperwork connected with cargo is thoroughly reviewed and completed accurately and legibly.
• Advances the tractor to the loading bay and couples the preloaded trailer when needed.
• Conducts customer order deliveries according to a prearranged route plan.
• Transporting merchandise from the trailer into designated storage areas for customers.
• Engages in assessments of products to identify any issues, examines scanning records, and communicates with a supervisor to facilitate the removal of orders as outlined in company policies.
• Checks with customers to verify item delivery and obtains the necessary signatures.
• Performs the task of gathering required funds, be it cash or checks. Ensures the proper loading of customer returns onto a trailer and secures the trailer doors afterward.
• Double-checks to ensure that the tractor, trailer, and load are continuously locked and securely fastened.
• Responsibilities include unloading damaged merchandise and customer returns, then transporting them to the driver check-in station for necessary paperwork processing. Additionally, remove any trash from trailers and unload essential equipment and materials as needed.
• Completes daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
• Completes routine cleaning tasks in the tractor and loading dock region, ensuring trailers are tidy and organized as needed.
• At the conclusion of your workday, ensure all equipment is properly secured and all relevant paperwork is completed.
• Completes any other assigned duties as required.
Qualification:
• Commercial driving expertise accumulated over a period of 12 months
• Candidates must have a high school diploma/GED or a state-endorsed comparable qualification
• Valid CDL A
• Adhere to state-specific licensing and certification standards if applicable
• It is mandatory to have completed 21 years of life to fulfill the condition
• Acquire a flawless driving history for the past 3 years through the designated channels
• Meet the expectations of a clean drug test and favorable criminal background check after being offered the position
• Pass road test
• Hold a valid DOT Health Card or be ready to obtain a new DOT Health Card if necessary
• Competent in manually handling and utilizing a variety of equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates to transport and stack product cases or freight of varying sizes and weights during the shift; product weights typically range from 10-35 pounds but can occasionally be higher, up to around 60-90 pounds based on location
