Job Description

The Gatekeeper position at Urban Farmer in Manteno, IL, involves managing the accuracy of physical inventory, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and verifying material against BOM recipes. Job Summary

The Gatekeeper is responsible for the overall integrity and accuracy of the physical inventory of the company. Key functions include the administrative responsibilities of data capture on inventory to each topping line. Will be first point of contact for all material entering and exiting production facility and responsible to ensure accurate capture of all lot traceability information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• 1 . Verify all material being brought to line matches BOM recipe in system. Alert necessary management if incorrect product is brought.
• Evaluate expiration of products and help maintain proper lot rotation
• Verify counts and lot traceability information of material to production floor
• Perform inventory movement in companies inventory system
• Verify that all material returned has correct label and identifited properly
• Analyzes daily consumption of products from production.
• Ensure that all Safety rules, OSHA requirements and Company Policies are followed.
• All staff are responsible for Compliance with all GMP, Food Safety and Plant Safety rules while in the processing facility. Staff are encouraged to report Food Safety and Quality concerns immediately to their supervisors and Quality representatives on shift.
• Other duties as assigned by Management.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified individuals must be at least 18 years old to work in the food manufacturing environment. Ability to follow work instruction and keep pace of inventory is required. Individual must have thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures. Individual must have at least 3 years working in a warehouse environment with experience with cycle counts. Effective communication skills are needed to support inventory team. This position requires incumbent to have keen attention to detail and experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Individual must have good computer skills and be able to work in an inventory system. The individual must be able to perform each essential job duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

Physical Demands
• Work in and out of cold environment.
• 50% of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must wear required PPE.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Maneuver around an array of equipment that may include
• Bending
• Stooping
• reaching above head.

Work Environment

This position works primarily in an office environment with consistent lighting and temperature controls. Occasional exposure to the manufacturing floor is necessary to address employee issues.
