Gas Maintenance Foreman, Lakin

Midwest Energy, Inc. is seeking a Gas Maintenance Foreman in Lakin, KS, responsible for ensuring service reliability through the construction and maintenance of natural gas systems. The role involves coordinating personnel, promoting safety, and requires knowledge of gas operations and regulations. Candidates should have supervisory skills, customer service abilities, and a valid CDL Class A license. The position is full-time with outdoor work in various weather conditions.
General Function

To insure service reliability for Midwest Energy, Inc. customers through the construction and maintenance of the natural gas system to insure that it meets specifications. Coordinate and lead personnel in the planning and coordination of construction, maintenance and operations of natural gas facilities. Promote safe working habits and enforce all safety rules and regulations adopted by the company.

Education

High school graduate plus advanced trade knowledge equivalent to three years of apprenticeship.

Job Knowledge

Must possess knowledge of all operational aspects of natural gas system. Must be familiar with all: Company Safety Manual, Construction Specifications, DOT Pipeline Safety Regulations, NFPA 54, EPA, and OSHA Rules and Regulations.

Abilities And Skills

Must have ability to construct and operate a natural gas distribution system. Should be skilled in the areas of organizing, planning, and directing the efforts of the crew. Must have supervisory and leadership skills in motivating, training, and evaluating subordinates in order to obtain the highest degree of productivity and be responsible for the development of individual capabilities. Must have customer service skills and possess good writing, verbal and interpersonal skills. A valid Kansas Drivers License (CDL Class A) is required.

Working Conditions

Major portion of work day involves general activities of gas construction, including direction, participation, observation, review and inspection. Subject to call 24 hours per day, including weekends and holidays. Work involves outside work in all types of weather.

Wages

The wage scale for this position is listed in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
