About the position
The Clean Energy Credit Markets Lead at Google will oversee the development and execution of strategies related to environmental attribute certificates (EACs) and emerging credit systems. This role is crucial in advancing corporate Net Zero strategies and ensuring compliance and integrity across environmental market initiatives. The position involves leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects, coordinating with various stakeholders, and driving decarbonization efforts within Google's operations and value chain.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the use of environmental attribute certificates and market-based crediting that aligns with Google's Net Zero goals.

• Develop and define quality criteria on credit certificates for adoption by Google and the broader market.

• Define and establish new credit certificates for new areas of coverage such as energy storage and carbon-free energy technologies.

• Work with Scope 3 hardware suppliers to define and scale clean energy credit solutions, solve market barriers, and drive liquidity in markets.

• Oversee procurement strategy including origination and portfolio management of credit certificates and retirement accounts.

• Facilitate external research and scientific support to inform decisions and educate the ecosystem.

• Monitor and assess market trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in environmental markets.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 10 years of experience in program or project management.

• 7 years of experience in a leadership role.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience working with standard-setters, think-tanks, and policy organizations.

• Expertise in emissions accounting and standards interpretations.

• Experience developing opinions and strategy on insights and presenting these to multiple audiences, including the C-Suite level.

Benefits
• Competitive salary range of $208,000-$296,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
