Job Description
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex autonomy systems from conception to deployment.
- Develop online state estimation algorithms by fusing information from LIDAR, IMUs, and other sensors.
- Develop reliable sensor calibration procedures that consistently perform well in challenging and dynamic environments with unpredictable conditions.
- Conduct thorough testing, validation, and optimization of robotic systems to ensure performance and safety.
- Collaborate and contribute to hardware and software teams to integrate autonomy components seamlessly.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and state-of-the-art technologies in robotics, AI, and automation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers on the team.
- Document engineering processes, specifications, and test results for future reference.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and reliability of robotic systems.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- Proven experience in designing and developing robotic systems, either through academic projects, internships, or previous work experience.
- Proficiency in developing production-grade code using C++, Python, and ROS.
- Solid understanding of robotics principles, including dynamics, Bayesian state estimation, control systems, and sensor integration.
- Deep expertise in integrating and optimizing robotic sensors (IMU, LiDAR, GPS, etc.), actuators, embedded systems, and advanced hardware components.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex engineering challenges.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
Minimum experience
- At least 2+ years of relevant industrial experience in robotics development or related fields.
- Experience working with sensors such as IMU, LIDAR, and GPS, having experience with visual odometry is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in localization algorithms - SLAM, for autonomous systems
Preferred experience
- MS or Ph.D. in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- Proficiency in ROS for more than 3 years
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their applications in robotics.
- Experience with one or more Deep Learning libraries such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, or Keras
- Experience with building and deploying production code for Computer vision tasks
- Experience with computer-aided design programs
