3Degrees Careers: Trade Operations Analyst

About the Role

At 3Degrees, we help organizations large and small take action toward a decarbonized prosperous future. The Environmental Markets (EM) Trade Operations team oversees all commodity supplies coming in and out of 3Degrees and manages all operations behind the market transactions. The Trade Operations Analyst plays a key role in contract creation and management, inventory management, and database record-keeping processes. This position supports the EM team in ensuring all contractual obligations are met.

  • **Reporting To:** Trade Operations Manager, Environmental Markets

What You'll Do

  • Execute receipts and deliveries across different commodities and trading platforms.
  • Maintain accurate inventory by aligning transactions across internal and third-party tracking systems.
  • Act as the main point of contact for counterparties regarding trading and contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with other Analysts and the Technology team to enhance tools and processes.
  • Support internal clients as a subject matter expert on internal platforms, databases, and workflows.
  • Contribute to larger team projects such as reconciliations, audits, and data analysis.
  • Continuously improve workflow efficiency through process enhancements and technological solutions.

About You

  • 2-3 years of experience in building relationships with stakeholders.
  • 1-3 years of experience in trading operations or commodity finance preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel, Google Sheets, and SQL Server Management Studio.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Clear and concise communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Environmental Attribute Certificates (EACs).

Within 30 days, you should:

  • Develop a working knowledge of key tools and software resources.
  • Understand retail and wholesale transaction processes.
  • Build relationships within the team and with stakeholders.

Within 90 days, you should:

  • Be proficient in managing transactions and products within databases.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams.
  • Work independently on deliveries, receipts, and invoices.

Within 180 days, you should:

  • Demonstrate mastery in receipt, delivery, and associated tasks.
  • Maintain high data accuracy and troubleshoot database issues.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and team members.

Within 1 year, you should:

  • Become a subject matter expert for the EM team.
  • Work with the technology development team to improve tools.
  • Proficiently manage the trading database.
