**Location:** Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

Job Description & Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer Java Azure, you will be responsible for designing and implementing highly available, scalable, and secure solutions for energy trading, risk management, and portfolio management business using cutting-edge cloud-native Azure technologies. You will be part of a multinational team and contribute to the decision-making process regarding technologies and technical solutions. Your responsibilities will also include troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing software issues, suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements, evaluating new technology options and vendor products, and ensuring critical system security using best-in-class security solutions.

Qualifications

• 5 years of technical experience in a similar role supporting large-scale production systems
• Proficiency in Java programming, including experience with advanced Java concepts
• Strong familiarity with Spring Boot and microservices architecture
• Expertise in Docker, REST, Git, and build tools like Maven or Gradle
• Comfortable with microservices architectures, API-based and event-based communication, CQRS, eventsourcing, messaging
• Knowledge of Kafka, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kubernetes, and Azure
• Business fluent in English and German
