Senior Product Design Engineering

The Senior Product Design Engineer will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of a diverse portfolio of clean energy products.

You will establish a high-standard for product design and engineering excellence by ensuring that each project delivers a great design outcome and delivers disproportionate value for Envision. Your projects will include wind turbines and energy storage systems, EV charging, smart building products, and completely new product categories within the clean energy space. Beyond hardware, you will work collaboratively on projects that require close integration between brand, business, hardware, software, and environments, including creative technology prototyping and art installations.

You will work directly with a broad range of stakeholders, which include our CEO and executive team members, the design lab team, and with engineering and manufacturing teams throughout Envision.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of delivering great products on a world-class design-led engineering team. You have a strong depth in product design engineering, which includes concept design, mechanical design, hands-on prototyping, collaboration with industrial design, design for manufacturing and quality engineering.

The Senior Product Design Engineer will report directly to the Product Design Engineering Lead.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1、Manage a diverse range of hardware projects across which include wind turbines, battery storage systems, EV charging, home and workplace automation, and more.

2、Leads hardware design products from concept to launch.

3、Develop elegant engineering solutions that balance aesthetics, feasibility, and cost.

4、Ensures that products are delivered on time, with a high level of design quality, and with maximum strategic value for Envision.

5、Work with the Product Engineering Lead to create a cohesive design language across all Envision products.

6、Find, evaluate, and lead high-caliber external design teams.

7、Guide internal teams through a collaborative, creative, and professionally rigorous design process.

8、Work collaboratively on multidisciplinary teams with technical team members from software, environments, and brand.

9、Adopt a “founding team” mentality and help to establish and build the design lab at Envision.

10、Additional responsibilities include portfolio planning, long-term strategic vision, engineering and manufacturing knowledge, design language creation, storytelling and presentation, market insights, and executive relationship management.

QUALIFICATIONS

1、Affinity and passion for sustainability and a mission-driven approach to product innovation.

2、Bachelor's or Master's Degree in mechanical engineering, product design, or a related field.

3、4+ years of experience working with a world-class design agency or in-house design-led engineering team.

4、A strong portfolio of products that demonstrate exceptional craft and strategic thinking at all stages of product development (from concept to market).

5、Expert-level proficiency in product design craft: sketching, CAD, hands-on prototyping, machining, and manufacturing stewardship.

6、Experience with a wide range of design projects - from conceptual “future of” projects to refinement and redesign of mature products.

7、Fluency in Mandarin, professional working proficiency in English
