# Mgr, Environmental

Euharlee, GA Environmental Manager – Plant Bowen

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for the safe and compliant operation and maintenance of all environmental equipment
  • Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems, anhydrous ammonia systems, and process safety management (PSM) compliance
  • Electrostatic precipitator (ESP), baghouse, dry fly ash systems, and ash sales
  • Flue gas desulfurization (FGD), limestone handling, gypsum handling, gypsum sales, FGD wastewater treatment systems, plant water balance, and effluent limitations guidelines (ELG) systems
  • Dry sorbent injection (DSI) systems and mercury re-emission control systems (MRCS)
  • Remote submerged chain conveyor (RSCC) and bottom ash disposal
  • Low volume wastewater treatment systems, including coal pile runoff
  • Coal combustion residuals (CCR) landfills and leachate management
  • Continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS)
  • Responsible for plant environmental O&M and capital budgets, including environmental commodities and CCR sales
  • Responsible for plant integration for all environmental projects
  • Responsible for contracting strategy for environmental equipment operation and maintenance
  • Responsible for ELG construction project execution to achieve regulatory compliance deadline
  • Serve as plant liaison for GPC Environmental Affairs and TSS on ash pond closure project
  • Interface with GPC Environmental Affairs on regulatory compliance requirements and environmental strategy

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred

Experience

  • Department manager experience required
  • Environmental controls equipment operation and maintenance experience preferred
  • Budget management experience required
  • Contract management experience required
  • Project and/or construction management experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong technical background on environmental controls equipment
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external customers and technical support
  • In depth knowledge and experience in budgeting and cost accounting
