After years of research, Planted was founded in July 2019 as a spin-off from ETH Zurich. Our revolutionary plan will make the world a better place. Your mission:

• You optimally support running production according to their needs to minimize downtime including:
  • supporting maintenance with troubleshooting and repair after machine failure if required according to escalation cascade.
  • driving root cause investigation after machine failure aiming to reduce downtime and to increase reliability, especially for in-house developments.
  • approaching production proactively regarding modernization, optimization, and continous improvement.
• You empower already existing production or even new production plants with new technologies and utilities for example by:
  • closely working together with all stakeholders to formulate and agree on requirements of new machines.
  • being responsible for machine requirements verification and demonstration to stakeholders. Also being in charge of driving the release of requirements verification confirmation agreement of all stakeholders.
  • being constantly supportive during the phase after first production until desired stabilization and reliability is reached and hand over to Production and Maintenance can be organized.
• You further enhance production and product development by developing and launching own technologies for example by:
  • formulating a user story based on stakeholder input from which requirements can be derived and engineered, iteratively frozen, versioned, and approved by all relevant stakeholders.
  • carrying out concept design and detailed design applying state of the art CAx and simulation tools.
  • applying rapid prototyping and manufacturing techniques such as 3D scanning- and printing, CNC milling, drilling, welding.
• You drive the visibility and vision of engineering forward supporting the implementation of different measures.

You:

• Are a self-driven person with a higher education (university / applied science bachelor's or master's) in Mechanical-, Process-, Material- or Design-Engineering.
• Demonstrate a strong track record on design, functionality and user experience.
• Have preferably 3-5 years work experience and show a strong track record in designing new machines and parts with CAD. Sensor, software and control skills are a plus (C++, Python, SPS).
• Are highly creative and a solution-oriented thinker.
• Have excellent communication skills and are a responsibility taker with a "hands-on" approach.
• Are a visionary for the future of food.
• Are fluent in German and English.
• Have a valid work permit for Switzerland.
