Description:
Bollinger Motors is seeking a Manufacturing Director to focus on launching and delivering a new model commercial truck program in a low-volume manufacturing environment at our Contract Manufacture location. Key responsibilities include managing key performance indicators, implementing lean manufacturing, quality management systems, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate must be able to work with a startup mentality aligned with an OEM vision. This role reports to the Chief Operations Officer and is initially based in Oak Park, MI, transitioning to our Livonia Assembly location by mid-2024.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee all manufacturing operations, equipment, process facilities, and personnel, including Contract Manufacture in Livonia, MI.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to meet production goals.
- Develop, monitor, and approve manufacturing budgets, taking corrective action when needed.
- Work with stakeholders to optimize corporate performance and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Participate in recruitment, hiring, and training of manufacturing personnel.
- Manage CM budgets and staffing.
- Supervise daily activities of the manufacturing management team.
- Support Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning.
- Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.
- Modernize manufacturing assets and footprint.
- Lead OEM style machinery specification, sourcing, and implementation into current models.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in manufacturing, business, or engineering (master's degree a plus).
- 12-15 years of progressive manufacturing experience, with 4-8 years in management.
- Certification in Lean and World Class Manufacturing processes.
- Ability to mentor and coach team members.
- Experience with financial statements and budgets.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
