About the team

We are looking for a Liability Claims expert to join us as part of our Claims team. This is an amazing opportunity to join an industry disruptor and to help continue to shape our liability program. This position reports to our Chief Insurance Officer as well as our Liability Claims Program Manager.

What you'll do

  • Take the lead on claim consultations with our liability insurance partners for claims within primary coverage levels.
  • Participate in organizing claim reviews to review targeted cases, compile feedback, and provide coaching and performance feedback to our liability partners.
  • Review claims data to measure and track account performance, identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Work closely with other teams at Turo - product, GR, accounting, analytics, and others to take what is observed on claims into actionable changes in the marketplace.
  • Develop best practices, improve workflow and efficiency with the Turo protection team.
  • Audit invoicing from our carriers for handling and paid claims to ensure accuracy.
  • Identify and drive ongoing improvements to policies and procedures to improve outcomes and the claims experience to customers.
  • Review cases in litigation, consult on litigation plans, ensure best in class handling for hosts and guests.
  • Be a subject matter expert for liability claims within Turo, aiding the internal team to understand liability claim workflows and referral processes.
  • Foster a high-quality work environment that inspires the team to deliver a world-class experience.
  • Provide support to audit partners, verify and test claims data.

Your profile

  • 6 years' experience in auto injury claims with a strong understanding of managing auto claims litigation in a multi-state territory.
  • Strong claims legal knowledge in a multi-state jurisdiction.
  • Must be a team player with a positive mental attitude, high energy, integrity, strong work ethic, enthusiasm, sense of humor, and commitment to the mission.
  • Strong proficiency with technology such as Claims Management systems, CRM systems, Google Docs, MS Office, mobile systems.
  • BA/BS preferred, state licensing desired but not required.
  • Commitment to high responsiveness, availability, entrepreneurial mindset, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, drive change, excellent follow-through, attention to detail.
  • Weekly and Monthly scorecard updates and analysis.
  • Provide decision-making support.
