Job Overview:

The Training Coordinator will identify, track, and monitor training requirements at primary location. The focus will be to help plan and implement training programs, policies, and procedures to fulfill those needs. In addition, the Training Coordinator is responsible for helping improve the productivity of the on-site employees. This position assesses developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for on-site employees. This position actively searches, creatively designs, and implements effective methods to educate, enhance and recognize performance.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Map out annual training plans for on-site employees

  • Conducts, facilitates, and manages required and recommended training programs and training sessions (outsourced and/or in-house)

  • Collaborates with vendors and third-party training providers to arrange employee registration for and participation in outside training programs.

  • Conduct on-site training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed

  • Use known education principles and stay up to date on new training methods and techniques

  • Order educational aids and materials

  • Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPI’s.

  • Maintain updated curriculum database and training records

  • Coordinate off-site training activities for employees, when needed

  • Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, virtual training, and on-the job coaching.

  • Reviews existing training programs; suggests enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of clientele, the organization, or the industry.

  • Ensures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.

  • Maintains knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industry.

  • Identifies problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that training could improve.

  • Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.

  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.

  • Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR staff.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required:

  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with many interruptions.

  • Must have 3-5 years of experience helping design and implement employee training and development programs in a manufacturing facility.

  • Willingness to conduct team member interactions on the plant/laboratory floor.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent data gathering and analysis.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge of HR systems, ADP a plus

  • Thorough understanding of training processes and training methodologies

  • Ability to moderate large groups.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.

  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.

  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development.

  • Proven work experience as a Training Coordinator or similar role

  • Adequate knowledge of learning management systems, such as E-Learning platforms

  • Knowledge of competency assessment

  • Must be committed to and must support the EHS management process to obtain the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification as well as participate in system standards and practices in its compliance and commitment to policies, objectives, operational controls, documentation, system guidelines, and others that the organization subscribes to as mandatory.

  • Will participate in all EHS aspects, including reporting hazards, incidents, and injury/illness without fear of reprisal.

  • Must attend an Environment, Health, and Safety Orientation program appropriate to their work environment.

  • Must follow 6S step-by-step methodology to maintain orderly workspaces and resources thereby enhancing productivity and safety.

  • Capable of wearing task specific personal protective equipment which may include dust mask, air purifying respirator (i.e., half and/or full faced), safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection.

  • Capable of meeting OSHA standards for manual lifting guidelines: < 50lbs

  • While performing the duties of this job it is required to stand, walk, and use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands or arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch when necessary for job activity.

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.

  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures.

  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.
