Job Description

The Data & Systems team is responsible for custom software applications used primarily within regional Service Operations but with touchpoints throughout the business. You'll work alongside skilled developers, analysts, leadership, and various team members on software applications that propel the business forward, with the opportunity to take charge of projects and directly observe the impact of your contributions.

Responsibilities

As a Software Development Specialist, you will join a team responsible for the development and maintenance of custom Python applications, with an emphasis on utilizing the Django framework. This includes closely collaborating with a cross-functional team to grasp project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions. Additionally, you will actively participate in code reviews, troubleshoot and debug issues, and stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 2+ years professional experience
  • Python Proficiency: Demonstrate a solid understanding of the Python programming language, enabling effective contribution to application development. Additionally, have a robust grasp of Django or a comparable web framework to effectively utilize its features for development projects.
  • Web Development: Utilize your familiarity with web development concepts and technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to actively collaborate on front-end development tasks, ensuring a seamless integration with Python-based backend systems.
  • Database Understanding: Leverage your basic understanding of relational databases and SQL to interact with database structures, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity within the applications.

Competencies

  • Show a high level of skill in resolving problems and a focus on precision to effectively diagnose and correct errors that occur during the development phase, ensuring solutions are stable and meet quality standards.
  • Proficient in both written and oral communication, with a consistent practice of interacting with peers professionally and with courtesy
