**Job Purpose:**

The Supervisor Gas Construction is responsible for the safety compliance, reliability, security, and integrity of the gas distribution system through the daily supervision and organization of contractor construction crews. Complete infrastructure construction while complying with company departmental and regulatory policies, procedures, and statutory requirements. Supervises both internal and contracted personnel to assure the timely and cost-effective completion of work within the area of responsibility. Provides emergency response and supervision of personnel engaged in a 24-hour, 7-day per week operation.

**Key Accountabilities:**

• Supervise a culturally diverse workforce through coaching, counseling, and team-building to ensure tasks are carried out efficiently.
• Oversee the operational workload of the team to ensure resources are fully utilized within budget.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and processes.
• Review and execute approval of purchase orders, invoices, and payroll activities.
• Build relationships with customers and manage day-to-day interactions.
• Monitor staff performance and address issues.
• Act as first point of contact for internal stakeholders and outside agencies.
• Implement best practices for high productivity and low costs.

**Supervisory Interpersonal Experience Required:**

• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.

**Qualifications:**

• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred, or 3 years of related experience.
• Technically proficient with experience in field operations activities.
• Ability to develop standard operating procedures for field personnel.
• Knowledge of information systems critical to work management.
• Theoretical knowledge of National Grid's policies and processes.
• Skills to build effective respectful working relationships.
• Ability to make sound decisions during emergency situations.
• Willingness to travel overnight outside the normal work area as needed.
• Valid driver's license.
