**BWX** Technologies' **Nuclear Operations Group** Lynchburg is currently seeking a **HT QCDI Engineer** for its Lynchburg, VA location.

**Essential Functions / Responsibilities:**

  • Serves as liaison between engineers, inspectors, and customers
  • Troubleshoots inspection issues and develops paths forward
  • Generates functional specifications for inspection programming support
  • Assists automated inspection system programmers by generating the optimal inspection and analysis report
  • Ensures compliance to contract specifications, contract drawing, etc.
  • Evaluates and responds to corrective actions
  • Performs Design Drawing Compliance
  • Produces document changes in procedures, operating procedures, QSPs, and QWIs
  • Designs and edits inspection forms as necessary
  • Utilizes Change Management Tools and Systems
  • Submits Tooling Requests and Estimates
  • Authors customer submittals to support component certifications
  • Prioritizes and coordinates multiple engineering activities
  • Performs process monitoring as needed
  • Interprets contract and drawing requirements to create/modify Operating Procedures, Guidelines, Inspection Forms and Programs
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert in area of automated inspection techniques and authoring of function specification
  • Assists in maintaining a strong foundation in metrology
  • Interacts with QC inspectors, peers, management, government auditors, and customers
  • Performs other duties as assigned

**Required Qualifications:**

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physics plus four (4) years of relevant experience
  • Must possess analytical skills necessary to evaluate situations or modifications
  • Ability to apply principles of metrology in a manufacturing setting
  • Understanding of application of literal compliance to procedures, contract requirements, and drawing requirements
  • Must be able to establish good working relationships with customers and employees
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail
  • Superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented collaborative environment
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with no dual citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance

**Pay:** $81,000 - $123,000

The base salary range for this position in Virginia, US, at the start of employment is expected to be between $81,000 and $123,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.

*Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.*

If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed at will unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company reserves the right to modify base salary as well as any other discretionary payment compensation or benefit program at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
