BWXT is currently seeking an Operational Excellence Black Belt for its Lynchburg, VA location. Black Belts lead process improvement teams using LSS principles, methodologies, and tools to achieve strategic improvement objectives. Black Belts interpret data, conduct experiments, recommend improvements, and validate improvement metrics. They also share knowledge and lessons learned to promote a culture of continuous improvement.

**Job Description Duties**

• Develop expertise in LSS principles, methodologies, and tools.
• Execute projects resulting in measurable results in quality, cost, and schedule.
• Build and maintain relationships with managers and supervisors to educate them in LSS.
• Facilitate team meetings efficiently and report progress periodically to management.
• Recommend improvements and justify activities with data analysis.
• Coach Black Belt candidates, Yellow Belts, and other team members as appropriate.

**Job Qualifications Requirements**

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Minimum of five years of related work experience in continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated leadership potential and strong interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter willing to take responsibility for finding solutions.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

**Additional and Preferred Requirements**

• Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited institution.
• Minimum of two years of relevant work experience within the nuclear industry.
