Logistics Planner

We are looking for a Logistic Planner, to our Packaging Materials Division, a business with approximately 5 billion euros in annual sales. You will report to Logistics Operations Manager or Team Leader within a Team and will be located in any location in Europe (min -1-2 days a week work from office)

About the position

Logistic Planner will be responsible for long term operational planning within the logistic area with the aim of securing capacity and performance within our logistic solutions. In the position as planner, you work with European “perspective” where you can represent more than one mill, terminal within the division.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex change projects linked to logistic flows, integration and process improvements
  • Collaborate with other departments as well as external suppliers of transport capacity to identify vulnerabilities and close operational gaps
  • Analyze logistic flows (as is), contribute to network designs improvements, develop new logistic set ups
  • Lead the planning and forecasting process in the team with a planning horizon of 12-14 weeks focusing on rail
  • Develop information- and material flows in our systems to secure stable and predictable deliveries from the mill, terminal or port up to the final destination
  • Be a driving force in the development of the logistic operation through measuring and follow up on agreed KPI:s in order to secure our logistic performance
  • Act as a ”spider in the net” in the interface towards external providers of transport capacity, warehouses, production, master planning etc. with the aim of accessing the best information to be used for optimization of delivery flows and securing of transport capacity long term
  • Assist in the preparation of annual mill transport budget
  • Be point of contact concerning transport claims towards Logistics, Sales etc.
  • Follow up of transport related statistics
  • Prepare logistics/supply chain dashboards and KPI’s ​
  • Build and support cross-functional relationships with internal partners, drive effective communication channels supporting operations management​

About you

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Education: BS Logistics in relevant fields
  • Specialized knowledge/Others + Experience
  • Strong experience from logistics, more than 5 years’ working experience in relevant field
  • Experience in Logistics planning or production planning preferred
  • Strong data management capabilities to analyses data and make decisions to improve logistics flows and execution
  • Experience working with Logistics service providers in operational and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English
  • To be persistent, systematic and drive for results, gets things done
  • Comprehensive view with excellent analytical skills
