Intermediate Environmental Scientist Technologist - Emergency Response

Your Opportunity:
We are looking for an Intermediate Environmental Scientist Technologist with a focus on Emergency Response to join our Site Investigation and Remediation (SIR) team in Alberta and/or Northwest Territories. This role involves leading emergency response projects under the guidance of exceptional managers and collaborating with a skilled team of environmental professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and field support for emergency response projects in western Canada
- Mobilize on short notice, participate in field work, and travel outside your local city
- Supervise emergency response contractors for cleanup activities
- Fulfill health and safety requirements and write technical reports
- Execute routine SIR field projects when emergency response programs are not prevalent
Qualifications:
- Dedication to working safely within established procedures
- Clear communication and ability to work under pressure
- Adaptability, critical thinking, and self-motivation
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in standard productivity software
- Previous experience in environmental assessments and emergency response programs
- Ability to travel and mobilize throughout Canada
- Minimum 5 years of related experience and relevant education
Education and Experience:
- Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
- Previous experience in environmental site assessments and emergency response
- Ability to work in both office and field environments
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and move equipment
- Experience with digital field data collection tools is an asset
