Job Description
OW a controlled 50/50 joint venture between EDP and Engie is looking for an analytical "Energy Markets & Regulation Associate".

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Perform and support in the Regulation assessments and Energy Markets analyses for geographies where the company is already present and for potential new countries. Design and performance of analyses needed for company’s strategic decisions in terms of bid preparation, investment decisions, international growth and business plan definition.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
MARKET ANALYSES: Monitor the regulatory and electricity market environment in current company’s geographies with special focus in understanding the regulatory framework and the route to market options for offshore wind.
INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: Screening, selection and prioritization of countries with potential for offshore wind considering energy and economic fundamentals. Design of the market strategy for entering new countries to ensure compliance with company’s growth strategy.
REMUNERATION AND MODELLING: Define and model the whole remuneration side of the current assets and potential new investments and deals, budget and business plan. Including potential incentives, power prices, guarantees of origin, renewable energy certificates and macroeconomic variables.
REGULATORY AFFAIRS AND ADVOCACY TASKS: Propose and conduct the necessary analyses to quantify the impacts on the portfolio of the company of different regulatory proposals both at national and supranational level to assess risks and opportunities, i.e. prepare counter proposals, potential regulatory modifications or construct scenarios to assist in decision making. Support JV active role in national and Global-level industry associations.
ANALYSES OF TECHNOLOGY EVOLUTION: Analysis of the competitive situation of current and innovative technologies: cost evolution (LCOE, learning rate), potential growth, match with offshore wind and geographical areas where they may become attractive.
SKILLS
Strong analytical skills, well-rounded modelling capabilities. Knowledge of electricity business and regulatory affair.
EDUCATION
Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Energy, Civil) or Business Administration.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
3-4 years in strategic consulting firm, energy planning, regulation or strategy area of an industrial company.
Experience in renewable energy business will be valued.
LANGUAGES
Fluent in Spanish and English.
