Position Summary

Under limited supervision, the Electrical Engineering Manager at Moorhead Public Service (MPS) has the overall responsibility to plan, organize, and direct assigned resources and consultants of MPS's electric engineering and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) functions. This position develops, revises, interprets, and enforces practices, procedures, and standards for engineering to ensure compliance with regulations intended to maintain a safe and reliable electric system and protect MPS investment in plant property.

Job Duties or Essential Functions

• Supervises and coordinates engineering staff and consultants in the preparation of studies, plans, and designs for additions to, modifications, and rehabilitation of electric facilities to ensure adequate facilities are available to meet expected electric loads.
• Interviews, selects, and terminates subordinate personnel.
• Assigns work duties, monitors, and evaluates work.
