**Summary Description of Job:** Direct and support subordinate professional personnel in the performance of mechanical designs, cost estimates, and schedules associated with major capital projects and engineering programs at the NFS plant. Control primary expenditures for assigned projects. Provide expert leadership to subordinates in support of safe, cost-effective, and on-time delivery of products that meet or exceed customer expectations. Develop Architectural Engineering (AE) design packages meeting nuclear industry requirements.

**Major Duties and Responsibilities:**

• Provide strategic and tactical direction and strong leadership to NFS Mechanical engineering function
• Develop and implement Mechanical engineering procedures, practices, tools, and methodologies
• Provide technical supervision of NFS and contract Mechanical engineers and designers
• Work with personnel to identify, develop, and implement actions to improve performance and reduce costs
• Handle design reviews, approval of change packages, enforcement of codes, standards, and conventions, and special projects
• Provide staffing recommendations and justifications to engineering and business unit leadership

**Educational Requirements:**

• B.S. in Engineering or Business Management; M.S. or M.B.A. preferred
• Professional License Certificate, PMP Certification, and/or PE License preferred

**Experience Requirements:**

• Over ten years of experience in support of DOE Category 1 or 2 nuclear facility support
• At least five years of experience developing Architectural Engineering (AE) design packages
• Design experience in process piping, material compatibility, industrial mechanical design, and rotating equipment
• Experience in design reviews, constructability reviews, and project estimating

**Pay:** $114,000.00 - $165,000.00

The base salary range for this position in Tennessee at the start of employment is expected to be between $114,000.00 and $165,000.00 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate.
