BWXT Canada Ltd has over 60 years of expertise in the design, manufacturing, commissioning, and service of nuclear power generation equipment. They are currently seeking a Design Draftsperson for their facility in Cambridge, ON.

Job Purpose:

Independently and under some supervision, the Design Draftsperson will work with Project Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to develop designs, CAD models, sketches, and detailed drawings. They will also issue and coordinate material requisitions and drawing structures.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Graphics department deliverables for assigned tasks
• Entry of requisitions and structures into SAP under Project and/or Manufacturing Engineering direction
• Preparation of complex arrangements, layouts, detailed drawings, and sketches
• Checking work of other Design Drafters and assisting in developing drafting standards
• Liaising with other departments, customers, vendors, and sales office as instructed

Knowledge and Experience:

• 3 or more years of experience in a similar position
• Technical competence and understanding of professional staff objectives
• Accreditation from a technical school, Engineering Technologist, or equivalent
• Intermediate training and/or knowledge in drafting methods and GD&T
• Experience with 3D parametric CAD software and 2D drafting standards
