Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as a AGM - Lead Contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the wind and/or solar business, with a preferred minimum of 12-16 years of relevant experience. A background in engineering and/or an MBA degree is highly desirable for this role. The primary responsibility of the candidate will be to oversee the drafting, negotiation, and finalization of services and technical contracts. In addition, the candidate should possess a sound understanding of business operations.
Responsibilities:
Contract Drafting and Negotiation:
- Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring compliance with technical, legal and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as operations, business development, finance, taxation, legal, supply chain, etc. to gather requirements and provide expert guidance on contract terms and conditions.
- Conduct thorough analysis of contractual risks and opportunities, proposing appropriate modifications and mitigations.
Contract Management:
- Monitor and manage the lifecycle of contracts, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, timelines, and deliverables.
- Proactively identify and address potential contractual issues, working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve resolutions.
- Maintain a comprehensive contract database, tracking contract renewals, amendments, and terminations.
Commercial and Technical Expertise:
- Develop a deep understanding of the wind and/or solar business, including industry trends, technical specifications, and market dynamics.
- Stay updated on relevant regulations, legal frameworks, and best practices within the renewable energy sector.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide commercial insights and support in decision-making processes.
Risk Management:
- Identify and evaluate contractual risks, proposing risk mitigation strategies to protect the organization's interests.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Implement effective contract management processes to minimize legal and financial risks.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 12-16 years of experience in the wind and/or solar business, with a focus on contracts and commercial management.
- Strong background in engineering and/or an MBA degree is preferred.
- Proven track record in drafting, negotiating, and finalizing contracts, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
- Excellent knowledge of legal and commercial principles related to contracts.
