Speculative Application within our Construction Team

At this moment, we do not have any vacancies in our Rotterdam office in the field of Structural Design, but we are always open to speculative applications from excellent talents. Contributing to more sustainable, healthier, and better buildings is a crucial task for Buro Happold today, and undoubtedly for you as well. With over 3,000 colleagues worldwide in various disciplines, sectors, and projects, including in the Netherlands, at Buro Happold, you will work on the most challenging international projects. For example, Buro Happold designs the tallest residential tower in the EU and a zero-energy laboratory in Amsterdam. On an international level, we have worked on projects like the Lankuaikei headquarters in Shanghai.

Your Role

As Structural Engineer or BIM Modeler, you will work on innovative structural designs for buildings together with the Project Manager. Being able to develop challenging structures in any construction material is a given for you. You are proactive, capable of working independently, but also knowing when it is necessary to have an extra pair of eyes look at your work. You understand the importance of digitalization of buildings and processes while knowing it is a means to an end, not a goal. You recognize the need to make a difference now to achieve climate objectives and create value for our clients, advising from that perspective. You act in the interest of the client and in line with Buro Happold's mission.

Your Profile

• You have a WO level of education and thinking.
• You have at least 3 years of relevant work experience as a Structural Engineer and the ambition to grow.
• You are strong in content with a drive to innovate technically.
• You think integrally and see connections between disciplines.
• You have strong communication skills.
• You are proficient in English and Dutch, and ideally, you also speak German.
