Careers Manager - Our Ocean Conference Secretariat
**Location:** Washington DC, London, or The Hague (hybrid position with 8 days/month in the office) **End Date:** April 30, 2027 **Type:** Full-time, limited term
**About the Program:** The World Resources Institute's (WRI) Ocean Program aims to catalyze sustainable ocean protection for the prosperity of all. By leveraging ocean-based climate solutions, the program seeks to meet Sustainable Development Goal 14 and many other SDGs.
**Job Highlights:** Reporting to the Global Director of the Ocean Program, you will manage the Our Ocean Conference Secretariat. This role involves meticulous preparation, seamless operation, and diligent follow-up to ensure the success of the event. You will lead a dedicated team in achieving these goals.
**Responsibilities:**
**Overall Management (25%):** Coordinate and lead Secretariat activities, facilitate meetings, manage budgets, secure funding, and provide necessary support for host countries.
**Planning Logistics (25%):** Provide strategic input, maintain the participant database, and assist in managing invitations and responses.
**Outreach Communications (20%):** Oversee website development, manage social media presence, and collaborate on communication plans.
**Commitment Mobilization Tracking (10%):** Support in mobilizing commitments, establish commitments registry, and ensure tangible changes in ocean conservation.
**Stakeholder Engagement (20%):** Liaise with stakeholders, foster partnerships, represent the Secretariat at events, conferences, and meetings.
**Requirements:**
- **Education:** Master's degree in a relevant field.
- **Experience:** Minimum of 10 years, including 2 years in a management position.
- **Skills:** Strategic thinking, organizational ability, excellent communication, fundraising track record, and strong network of relationships.
- **Languages:** Fluent in English, additional languages a bonus.
**Salary:** US - $116K to $139K USD, UK - £65K to £82K GBP (commensurate with experience)
