Intermediate Environmental Scientist Technologist - Emergency Response

Your Opportunity:

We are looking for an Intermediate Environmental Scientist Technologist with a focus on Emergency Response to join our Site Investigation and Remediation (SIR) team in Alberta and/or Northwest Territories. This role involves leading emergency response projects under the guidance of exceptional managers and collaborating with a skilled team of environmental professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and field support for emergency response projects in western Canada
  • Mobilize on short notice, participate in field work, and travel outside your local city
  • Supervise emergency response contractors for cleanup activities
  • Fulfill health and safety requirements and write technical reports
  • Execute routine SIR field projects when emergency response programs are not prevalent

Qualifications:

  • Dedication to working safely within established procedures
  • Clear communication and ability to work under pressure
  • Adaptability, critical thinking, and self-motivation
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency in standard productivity software
  • Previous experience in environmental assessments and emergency response programs
  • Ability to travel and mobilize throughout Canada
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience and relevant education

Education and Experience:

  • Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
  • Previous experience in environmental site assessments and emergency response
  • Ability to work in both office and field environments
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and move equipment
  • Experience with digital field data collection tools is an asset
