Instrumentation Controls (I C) Engineer - OCI Nitrogen Iowa

OCI is looking for an Instrumentation Controls (I C) Engineer to join our Maintenance team. The I C Engineer is responsible for developing, installing, managing, and maintaining equipment used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery, and processes. The primary objective of this role is to ensure these systems and processes operate effectively, efficiently, and safely while adhering to Industry Best Practices. This individual ensures safety instrumented systems and critical controls comply with PSM.

Your Scope of Responsibility

• Test, maintain, and modify existing systems as required
• Provide technical support through equipment design, troubleshooting, and inspections
• Assist in diagnosing faults and emergent work
• Analyze data and present findings in reports
• Ensure methodological project delivery process for reviews and approvals
• Write and develop preventative maintenance procedures
• Assist in training of technicians
• Evaluate and recommend reliability improvements
• Optimize DCS health and tuning for reliability
• Implement Management of Change (MOC)
• All other duties as assigned

What you bring to OCI

**Education**

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering

**Experience and Skills**

• 5 years engineering experience in a chemical industry or refining environment
• Fertilizer manufacturing experience a plus
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the field
• Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

**Physical Requirements**

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds
• Climbing straight ladders, working at heights more than 100 feet may be required
• Confined space entry may be required
• Wearing hearing protection in high noise areas as required
