Engineer I Hardware

Key Responsibilities
- Circuit design including using circuit simulation and schematic capture tools
- Electrical verification testing using lab equipment such as power supply, environmental chamber, and RF analog test equipment
- Hands-on bench testing and soldering of printed circuit board assembly and components
- Certification of products to FCC and electrical safety standards (UL, IEC, etc.)
- Manufacturing tests and specifications
- Utilization of Microsoft Office tools
- Contribute to component and/or solution design development, documentation, and validation
- Work on agile development teams collaborating with multiple cross-discipline architecture teams to develop hardware and software components as part of L G Smart Grid solutions
- Participate in recruitment, development, and mentoring of junior engineers
- Contribute to area-specific continuous improvement initiatives
- Contribute to innovative technology and solutions development and/or validation

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with lab equipment such as DC power supply, oscilloscope, and digital multimeter (DMM)
- Experience with schematic capture tools and circuit simulation (SPICE)
- Knowledge of discipline-specific engineering practices (coding, HW design, etc.)
- Must be able to read schematic and identify standard electrical components
- Experience with soldering of electronics
- Knowledge of fundamental theories of power supply, microcontroller, high-frequency signal characteristics, and digital signal characteristics
- Proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing
- Critical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities
- Ability to learn to use data effectively to solve problems and support ideas
- Ability to complete and validate small features with oversight

Education and Experience
- At least 0-3 years of relevant experience required
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required

**Pay:** $61,600 - $89,305 per year. The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual.
