Under the supervision of the Manufacturing Manager, the primary objective of the role is to complete service or production jobs as assigned. Interactions will involve working directly with FTS customers as well as inter-departmental with co-workers and close collaboration with other functional departments (Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, etc.), and it may also involve third-party contractor or supplier interactions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform job requirements safely as an Electronics Technologist
  • Ensure industry standard guidelines for data integrity are followed
  • Provide back-up technical support as required and trained

Requirements

  • Electronic Technologist Diploma or recognized equivalent education
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a mid to high-volume service or manufacturing environment is preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years of relatable field service experience is desired
  • Proven soldering and mechanical assembly skills and experience with a variety of hand and power tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematic drawings
  • Strong computer and application hardware programming skills
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience involving customer support issue resolution
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to define problems and make sound fact-based decisions to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive working relationships and facilitate a teamwork environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to work well under pressure
  • Working knowledge of ISO Standards and quality-related requirements
  • Experience with formal OH&S requirements and behavioral-based safety programs
  • Strong bias for action and self-motivation
  • Willing and able to work overtime on an ongoing basis as the business needs require
  • Willing and able to travel locally and internationally on an ongoing basis as the business needs require
  • Lean manufacturing experience desirable

Additional Information

This is an on-site opportunity that will be performed from our office in Victoria, B.C. Must be eligible to work in Canada without company sponsorship now or in the future for employment-based work authorization. F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs, or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered. H1-B and green card sponsorship is not available for this position.

Canadian Compensation Range

A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $40,000 - $60,000 CAD per year. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. AEM considers a wide range of factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education, licensure and certifications, key skills, as well as other market and business considerations when extending an offer. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
