Cameron McDonald spent eight years leading sales and account management teams at Wunderkind and Tropic before deciding to redirect his commercial skills toward the energy transition. That decision led him to Terra.do's LFA program, where he built a foundation in climate science, policy, and solutions and found clarity on where his experience could be useful.

Today, as Sales Director at Voltus, Cameron helps businesses participate in demand response programs: reducing energy use when the grid is under stress and getting paid for it. He also contributes to the DER Task Force, helping shape policy for a cleaner, more resilient power system.

Alongside Terra.do alum Colin Bryan, Cameron launched The Green Beta, a community-driven accelerator supporting professionals transitioning into climate work. What began as an alternative to one-on-one coaching has grown into a cohort-based learning community helping dozens of people find meaningful roles in the climate space.

Cameron is now on both sides of the climate career transition: doing the work himself at Voltus, and building the infrastructure to help others make the same move.
