About the event

Most climate advice focuses on what we buy, eat, and throw away. But for many of us, the bigger lever is less visible: where our money sits. Our bank accounts, pensions, and investments fund things too, and choosing what they fund is one of the most direct ways to act on climate.

Nienke Benders went from Terra.do’s Learning for Action fellowship to BrightWise and then to the TEDx stage, where her talk She Invests, the World Changes looked at climate action through the lens of money. In this session, she’ll walk us through why our financial choices can matter more than our recycling habits, and what we can actually do about it.

This one’s hands-on. Using Nienke’s Scan, Shift, Share framework, you’ll do the first step live: checking where your pension, bank, and investments sit. She’ll also share her own career pivot into climate and what she’d tell anyone thinking about making a similar move.
