About the event

Find your direction, translate your skills, and (finally) do work you care about.

If you're trying to move into climate work, or just out of a career you've outgrown, you're probably already working hard at it. Researching. Applying. Networking. Rewriting the CV for the fifth time. And somehow, months in, you're not much closer.

That's not a motivation problem, and it's not an experience problem. In my work with hundreds of mid-career professionals, transitions stall for one reason: the right actions, in the wrong order. And in 2026, with more climate work sitting inside commercial, operations and strategy roles than in jobs with "sustainability" in the title, the order matters more than ever.

The wrong order shows up as three specific, recognisable mistakes: the Exploration Trap, Optimising Without Diagnosis, and the Signal Gap.

In this session you will get:

- The 3 mistakes that quietly stretch a career change into years of second-guessing. You'll recognise at least one as yours.

- The fix for each: the sequence I use with clients to go from unclear to focused, stuck to moving, and interested to credible, without starting again at the bottom.

- Why hiring managers don't hire "climate experience", they hire the person who understands their problem, and how to become more than an applicant in their eyes.

- A way to tell which mistake is costing you most right now, so you leave knowing your next move, not just better informed.

Bring your questions. There will be time for live Q&A.

"5/5 The best career strategy session I've ever been to, and I've been to 'all' of them."

"5/5 For once, a well-targeted, no-nonsense approach to the real issues we face, with simple, practical suggestions."

"5/5 Well-pitched, well-structured, informative and entertaining."

"5/5 I finally understand why I've been stuck."

That last quote is the point of this session.
