About the event

You'll build an interactive, scrolling climate story in this session from scratch. Using Claude Design to create the page and Claude Code to wire in real data, interactive charts, and scroll-triggered transitions. By the end, you'll have a stunning, visual storytelling app you can publish.

Climate data exists by the ton. The capacity to turn it into something people actually engage with, interactive stories, scrolling narratives, visual explainers backed by real numbers, that's what's scarce. Until recently, that communication layer required a designer, a developer, and weeks of back-and-forth. AI has the capacity to collapse that into a single sitting given the right tooling, workflows and architecture. This session will show you how.

Working reference:

Vanishing Earth, a scrolling interactive on biodiversity tipping points built as a Terra Studio capstone. Animated data visualizations, five ecosystem deep dives, real climate data throughout. It took weeks to build the first time. We're going to see how much of it we can reproduce in one session.

What you walk away with:

A replicable workflow for turning climate data into published interactive stories, and the context to apply it to your own data. No coding or design background required. You bring the climate knowledge and editorial judgment. Plus:

  • Open source repository of the build
  • Premade starter template
  • Premade skills and artifacts
  • Premade data sets and other helpful artifacts
  • Exclusive discount and access to Terra Studio

The format:

We will build this thing live in an hour. I will explain key decisions as they happen, with Q&A every 20 minutes. Things will break. We'll fix them in real time. You see the actual workflow, including the parts that don't go smoothly.

Given time constrains, some areas of the project will have to be premade. However, full documentation of these will be shared.

Go deeper:

The techniques in this session come directly from the Terra Studio Intensive curriculum and free courses, where participants turn climate evidence into published, audience-targeted communication using AI, every week. The free concise storytelling course is available at studio.terra.do.

All this while working with Deloitte, and then Google in New York. He moved to Bangalore in 2009 to start&nbsp;<a href="http://mygola.com/" target="_blank">Mygola.com</a>, a travel planning app that was acquired by MakeMyTrip in 2015, where he was their Chief Product Officer until 2019 when a classic midlife crisis sent him in search for what was truly worth working on.<br /> <br /> He currently lives across from Stanford University where his wife just finished her PhD in sustainable construction. He has two kids, and often finds himself taking climate inspiration (and career advice!) from them these days.
