Betting on What Matters: A Conversation on Building, Backing, and Climate
What does it really take to build companies - and ecosystems that endure beyond hype cycles and funding booms?
In this candid and wide-ranging conversation, Anshuman Bapna (Founder, Terra.do) and Sandeep Singhal (Senior Advisor & Investment Committee Member, Avaana Capital) explore what it means to bet on what truly matters, especially in the defining decade for climate action.
Bringing together the perspectives of a serial entrepreneur building the talent infrastructure for the climate economy and a veteran venture capitalist deploying capital into India’s sustainability transition, this dialogue will unpack the intersection of entrepreneurship, capital, and long-term impact.
From lessons learned across multiple market cycles to the realities of scaling climate-first businesses in emerging markets, they’ll reflect on what founders and funders must do differently now and why the next wave of entrepreneurship may be more mission-driven, more capital-efficient, and more system-aware than the last.
Expect an honest discussion on navigating risk, building conviction in uncertain markets, aligning profit with purpose, and creating institutions that outlast individual leaders.
For anyone thinking about starting, backing, or working in climate, this conversation offers both strategic insight and personal perspective on how to build for the long haul.
