Among the issues they address are conserving threatened landscapes such as tropical rainforests, protecting oceans, and solving climate change. Their core team has an impressive record of success in building grassroots movements. Through their campaigns, they have convinced the world's largest food and agriculture companies to eliminate deforestation and human rights abuses from their supply chains. The group's Chairman, former Congressman Henry Waxman, is responsible for some of the most significant environmental legislation of the last 50 years, including the 1990 reauthorization of the Clean Air Act and the Safe Drinking Water Act.
