Course Overview

This course will set you up to meet the new climate action requirements for B Corp Certification. You’ll learn the terminology of carbon accounting and how to measure and report carbon emissions using the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard. You will explore strategies for setting carbon reduction goals and targets to create an achievable climate transition plan. You will walk away from the course with a solid understanding of how to start working toward CA1, CA 2 and CA3, including beginning measuring, setting targets, and taking action to reduce emissions.

David Jaber is the Founder of Climate Positive Consulting, a firm that analyzes carbon footprint, crafts climate strategy, and drives greenhouse gas reduction. Over the last 20 years, David has worked with more than 180 companies to help them advance environmental excellence. He is the author of “Climate Positive Business! How You and Your Company Hit Bold Climate Goals and Go Net Zero” and is a Project Drawdown Fellow. David holds engineering degrees from Rice University and University of California-Berkeley.

What are the program dates and times?

The course is five weeks long and runs from May 5 to June 6, 2025. There will be multiple lab times available for live sessions to fit your schedule. Attendance is strongly encouraged, but recordings will also be made available.

Who will benefit most from this program?

This course is designed for B Corp employees who are responsible for tracking, reducing, and communicating their company’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This program will best set you up to work to meet updated B Corp climate standards and can also help you improve supply chain sustainability or integrate emissions data into decision-making.

Can anyone participate in this program?

This course is specifically designed for individuals employed at B Corps in the US and Canada.

Can I get reimbursed for the course by my organization?

Many organizations have learning or professional development budgets for their employees. We encourage you to enquire about and utilize this budget to attend the course. Terra.do will help you get reimbursed for the course by providing an invoice, a certificate, and any other documentation you need. If you have approval from your company, we can also arrange for your company to pay directly. B Lab is also sponsoring a number of seats in the course for B Corp members, and you can request a scholarship as part of your course application.

Are you going to be running more cohorts?

As of now, there are no plans to run another cohort of this course specifically for the B Corp audience.

Is financial aid available?

B Lab is also sponsoring 100 seats in the course. You can apply for this sponsorship as part of the course application process.

What is your refund policy?

If you’re unsatisfied for any reason after the first session, we’ll refund you 100%. We only request that you give us feedback so we can improve.

What is your deferral policy?

We do not allow deferrals for this course, as we do not currently plan to run another cohort of this program.
