King & Wood Mallesons is seeking a Solicitor (2-4 years) for its Employee Relations and Safety team in Melbourne. The role involves providing strategic advice on employment, industrial relations, and safety law to a diverse client base. Candidates should have strong analytical and communication skills, experience in drafting legal documents, and a commitment to client service. About the Role

We are looking for a passionate Solicitor (2-4 years) with experience in employment, industrial relations and safety law to become part of our esteemed Employee Relations and Safety (ERS) team. This role will work across the ERS national practice and will work closely with experienced Partners including: Sarah Clarke, John Tuck, Murray Kellock, Annamarie Rooding, and Paul Burns.

Our expanding ERS team provides strategic and complex employment, industrial relations and safety advice to a prestigious client base across various sectors, including technology, financial services, retail, government, and energy and resources. The team excels in advising on high-stakes employment litigation, complex and sensitive internal investigations, senior staff exits, regulatory compliance, industrial relations strategy and enterprise bargaining. They guide boards and senior stakeholders, major businesses, and governments through significant matters including Royal Commissions and Inquiries, workplace health and safety incidents, and industrial relations strategy for large-scale projects. Teamwork is at the heart of our operations, and we collaborate closely within our group and with other practice areas. About you
• Excellent analytical, communication, and research skills to deliver prompt and commercially astute advice.
• A strong commitment to client service with well-developed relationship management abilities; you will play a key role in supporting and actively nurturing our client relationships.
• Enthusiasm for participating in business development activities, including presenting at client and industry-related programs and managing strategic relationships and networks.
• First-rate experience in drafting documents (including agreements, contracts, deeds, court documents, etc.).
• Advocacy experience in industrial tribunals and Courts (not essential).
• You should have recognized experience gained in a similar environment and enjoy working as part of a committed, dynamic team that offers exciting opportunities for new employees.
